Topic: Print look terrible. "bed level failed" help? "picture"

XYZ Da Vinci 1.0A
Repetier .92MOD

So after following the instruction "Bed Leveling for Beginners" this was my results idk why??
Quick summary of what i did in "Bed leveling"
            - did a rough bed level, then i went went to auto bed leveling to store it in epprom.
            - went back manually with the paper method to check clearance on all four corners and middle.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v358/damnitzkhoa/xyz_zpsnf7idfgc.jpg

So then i proceed on with the Repetier setup in slic3r as follow:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v358/damnitzkhoa/set1_zpsahaqn44j.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v358/damnitzkhoa/set2_zpsfcw234jp.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v358/damnitzkhoa/set3_zpscslw5xgn.jpg

Then i test print this, as you can see side A is almost perfect, but side BCD is horrible.

Also, i made this object with Pro-E when i import it in to repetier host, the scaling is way off, what do i have to do to get the correct dimension of the object.

it wont let me attach the .stl files =/

Re: Print look terrible. "bed level failed" help? "picture"

The biggest thing I can see is your temp is too high. For small parts you want the lowest printable temp you can use. Try in the range of 200 to 210 for a part this size. At the high temp the previous layers are not cooling enough before the next layer is printed so the previous layers is moving.

Re: Print look terrible. "bed level failed" help? "picture"

Thank you Carl, i will try to reprint this object at 210C, and i will repost.
Also do you happen to know why the scaling is off on this object? the whole object is about 32mm x 32mm x 15mm. However when i import it in repetier, the object is extremely small. i have to scale it up by 32 in direction xyz to get it size up like this.

Make sure Repetier is set to use mm and not inches. It may be set for inches which would result in the scaling issue. If not that then try running the model through netfabb repair service. You can Google it and it requires a Microsoft account but is a free service.

Or your model was actually rendered in inches while Repetier is set for mm.

Re: Print look terrible. "bed level failed" help? "picture"

If you modeled the part using ProE in inches, then just scale the object up by 25.4 to convert it into mm.

Re: Print look terrible. "bed level failed" help? "picture"

I made this part in Pro E using mm. i just check repetier.
Units of Import Object > mm
but still its not scaling correctly.

I'm going back to ProE now to make a cube 20x20x20mm and reprint to see what happen.

Re: Print look terrible. "bed level failed" help? "picture"

Regardless of the units you modeled the part in; just make sure that your export to .stl is configured for mm...

Re: Print look terrible. "bed level failed" help? "picture"

i dont understand, my setting in slic3r is 215extruder and 90 bed.
but after i slice it and print the temp change into the 230 and 130..
i cant seem to find where i need to change this at.

Re: Print look terrible. "bed level failed" help? "picture"

In your filament settings tab, change the "first layer" and "other layers" temp to 215...you have it set at 230 according to your screenshot above.

As far as the 130, i'm not sure what you are referring to...

I went back and change it from 240-> 215 and I kept the 90
But currently after I slice it and when I hit print. The printer will try to hit 230/130
Then I have to go manually scroll it back down from 230 to 215 and 130 to 90. But sometime it doesn't work. Idk let me make a video.

Re: Print look terrible. "bed level failed" help? "picture"

Click printer settings, upper right on tool bar and see what temps are set for there.

Re: Print look terrible. "bed level failed" help? "picture"

So I manual change the temp on the printer itself the print of 20x20x10 came out excellent. But the temp thing is weird. I just made a video here is the link.

Re: Print look terrible. "bed level failed" help? "picture"

Just a shot in the dark, but you may want to try commenting out (with a // before the command) the last 3 M codes in your start "Custom G-code" settings and see if that has any effect...

Not sure, but that is what I would try...stand by to shut everything down if something goes wrong!

hey i just tried it, still didnt work =/. So again i went in to manually change the temp from the printer. But after it it reached 215/90 there was a little pause, then temp setting switched to 230/90, the machine pause while increasing the extruder temp. I went into the printer to change it back down to 215/90 then it start to print again.

Re: Print look terrible. "bed level failed" help? "picture"

You might want to check through your generated G-Code Editor after slicing to see if that can point you in the right direction...post a pic of that as well; specifically from the start of the generated gcode.

Re: Print look terrible. "bed level failed" help? "picture"

I look at the Gcode nothing seem to be wrong. "i will post code shortly to confirm it"
But in the printer itself ABS setting was at 230/90 should i change it down to 215/90 then store it in epprom?

Re: Print look terrible. "bed level failed" help? "picture"

The printer has a preheat function in it's menu. Look and see what temp it is set to preheat to. Maybe that is the source of the odd temp.
