I print at 250 for the first few layers and then take it down to 240..and then 230.
Can the Solidoodle Press get damaged from this?
You'd hope SD has the firmware set up to prevent overtemp. Not impossible.
The weak point might be the plastic insulation on the heater wires. If it's PTFE and gets into the 230s (C) it could break down into some fairly toxic fumes. (Check with a temp probe, being careful not to short anything?)
Next up would likely be the temp sensor, but I don't know what part they're using.
Also, you'll find at some temp you'll overwhelm the heat break and jam.
