Topic: Workbench Apprentice Fan Sizes

Does anyone know what size fans are mounted to the extruder?

Also, I noticed that there is an unused spot on the back of the frame to mount a small fan. Solidoodle originally had a fan mounted there when the WA was in development, but now the finished product ships without that fan. Does anyone know what size fan fits there? Maybe it's the same size as the extruder fans?

Re: Workbench Apprentice Fan Sizes

They look like 40mm fans to me. The only even slightly common fan that is smaller is 30mm.

That mounting spot in th back is definitely for a 40mm fan.

Re: Workbench Apprentice Fan Sizes

All 40mm.
The exhaust fan is not installed on the Apprentice because there is no enclosure. It uses the same frame as the SD4 (which does have an enclosure and an exhaust fan) which is why there is still mounting holes for it.

I figured that was the reason it wasn't needed. I plan to make an enclosure for mine though, so I'll probably end up using that fan location.
