Topic: slic3r Profile ?
Did anyone manage to get a good slic3r profile for Solidoodle 2 that generates good GCode to print with Pronterface ?
Basically Pronterface with skeinforge give very good results out of the box (Solidoodle 4.2 'package'), except for 'raftless' printing of flat parts, where I'm still struggling, (altitude/heat?).
In fact the Repetier/slic3r pair I downloaded (0.82b linux version installed on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS) would be perfect, placing parts, scaling viewing, and especially generate GCode with support material which I'd really need, except that although it connects to my Solidoodle 2 (received in december so probably the latest firmware), but can't control, it says Machine Type : unknown in printer information and goes no further although I followed steps solidoodletips
So I'd like to use it to prepare parts and the print with Pronterface as it works fine, but the slic3r profiles found on blog and forum but it doesn't work fine, tried to tweak things but no sccess, it seems to 'over extrude' plastic and it looks ugly, holes are filled and it's all but smooth, if anyone was able to get nice smooth results (see pics 1 perfect with base skeinforge, others where aborted attempts with slic3r), I would appreciate, or good hints how I could tweak it well. I know I'm quite a newbie and still need to read a lot on forums, but some input would be appreciated :-)
