Topic: Da Vinci printer LED light stays on while printing

I have 1.0A printer for one week. This recently just started when the build starts the light LED light will stay on for the entire time till it completes the build. This only happened twice so far. Have printed about 20 builds so far. Has anyone had this same problem or a possible solution to shut the lights off after it starts like I normally should.

I have not had that issue with my 1.0A.  I do wish we could have the option to keep it on though on stock firmware.

I am just concerned about the lights burning out to quickly and also not sure if they can be replaced.

They're LED lights. They could run for longer than any of us will live, most likely wink

Re: Da Vinci printer LED light stays on while printing

As said they are LED based. There is also an option in the printers menu to set the time out to zero so they stay on all the time or set to intervals of different times.  It has been there since the machine was first released.. Mine stay on all the time even when the machine is idle. Again they are LED based and won't burn out before you die or the printer just wears out. I even added two more higher wattage strips to both sides for better lighting.

Also why did you post three times for the same thing? Why not go back and delete the other two? it just waste the forums resources.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

I have had this issue with my 1.0A a few times.  I am not really concerned about it though.  I have probably have printed 60+ things so far.

How did you wire the lights in Carl? I'm wanting to do this but unsure if I could just wire them in to the + and - of the original one??

I just spliced them into the primary 12 volts (yellow and black leads) coming from the power supply and then added a switch so I could turn them off if I wanted while the printer ran.

Thanks for the information.  Is it the energy save option in the settings menu?

I have my 1.0A set to the 3 minute energy save mode.  If I want to get the lights back on during a build I just have to hit the home button.

Yes, there is an option to disable it and the lights will stay on.

Thanks for the info. Not really sure why it posted 3 times.

Re: Da Vinci printer LED light stays on while printing

I've experienced the same problem with my 1.0, sometimes they stay on throughout the build. I just hit OK to open the active menu, then hit the home button to close and they turn off after 3mins.
