Topic: (X/post from help) Press print stops until I click Heat Bed again
Hello all
Forgive me for the wall of text below:
I'm currently enjoying my Solidoodle Press. Have successfully printed a few things and have worked out some of the kinks, however there is one thing that is driving me insane. It seems to be a software/firmware issue with SoliPrint.
The issue I'm having (tested in both 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 of SoliPrint) is that while printing, sometimes the printer will completely halt. No errors are spat out..etc.
I started messing around since all my prints experience this at least once or twice during print. However I found a work around, which to be honest is only going to lead to disaster at some point.
The temporary work around is: Simply hit the Cool Bed/Heat Bed button on and off quickly, and the printer picks up again without a problem.
This indicates to me that there is something wrong with the information the printer is receiving from the software, and it seems to be temperature related. I don't see the sensors drop in temperature and I've tested multiple different scenarios with room temperatures or open windows to see if this has any effect. Regardless, it ALWAYS happens.
This means I cannot leave my PC and have to be constantly monitoring the GCode output to ensure that its running, because if it pauses for too long the extruder heats the piece it was working on and it usually delaminates and leaves a mess.
So....
Anyone else have this going on with their printer? Any one else know how to fix this?
My printer is working flawlessly in terms of printing, however this is quite inconvenient and like I mentioned above it can lead to catastrophic failure.
In one of the times I hit the Heat/Cool button in SoliPrint, I accidentally hit it twice so the print nozzle and bed dropped in temperature but kept printing, which can only lead to me damaging gears or the nozzle since it is supposed to stop if there is a big temperature drop.
If any one can help, please let me know!
Edit, I've also added the external print spool mod in an effort to see if this helps. It does not.
