Topic: Simplify3D getting started help

Hi all,

I just bought the Simplify3D software. I have the Da Vinci 1.0 printer with the latest 1.2.6 firmware. I am having a hard time getting the software to communicate with the printer. Any, any help will be greatly appreciated. I get the software to where it says it is connected to my printer. But that is as far as i can get. I tried printing something and all I get is where the software says "uploading" and that is it. It just sits there. I can't get any of the other functions to work either.
The only app that works is the XYZware standard software. I don't know G-code. Is there a g-code command that would make the software work or anything along those lines?

Thanks,

John

Re: Simplify3D getting started help

Does this software preheat the bed and extruder? If not then once you hit print and it uploads, you will then have to wait till the bed heats fully and the the extruder heats before it does anything.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Re: Simplify3D getting started help

I can't get the software to manually heat the bed. I have gotten the XYZware software to print 7 different print jobs every time. I see the Simplify3D software says Uploading and that is it. I felt the bed and it is hot so I am not sure if the Software actually heated the bed or something else I did heated the bed. Since Inam still a new be. Intried auto heat bed in the printer control panel and that works. I turned off Auto Heat for now. I do know that in the Manual setting I only see the red circle. Never a green circle that would denote that the bed was being heated of any other dialog box that would show temp, etc.

Thanks,

John
