Topic: Redoing Filastruder wiring

I'm looking to redo the wiring for my filastruder.  The wires have come out of a couple of the spade terminals and the wiring is just really, really ugly right now.  I'm also interested in making the fan turn on with the heater, rather than with the motor, so that there isn't a drop in temperature when the motor turns on.

I don't have too much experience with electronics and circuits, so I wanted to check in before I do anything that could break it.

First of all, I need to replace the spade terminals so I can rewire.  What are the specifications for this that I should be looking for?

Secondly, to make the fan start with the heater, would it be acceptable to wire the red terminal to pin 7 of the PID controller rather than to the motor/fan switch?

If it makes any difference, I have a revision 2 filastruder.

Thanks a ton!

Re: Redoing Filastruder wiring

Starting the fan with the heater will increase warmup times. You should only see about a 10C drop on startup, stabilizing within 2-3 minutes. The first 2-3 minutes of extrusion are never good anyway, as you haven't extruded enough to have the proper pull on the nozzle. If you still want to move it to the heater, pin 7 won't help you since that toggles on and off to maintain temperature. You could use pins 9 and 10.

Spade terminals are 0.25".
