Greetings from Panama

Hello guys, my name is Peter and I'm from Panama (the country) I'm Looking forward to learn all I can about The 3D Printing Industry and business opportunities related to it.  I have solid background in Tech (Building, Fixing, Modding, Overclocking...) and also in Graphic Design (2D).  I consider myself an entrepreneur and after starting a couple of business (car Imports, automotive detailing and a burger joint.) that for different reasons didn't went the way I expected them to go, but that's the past and this looks like a brighter future.  If anyone wants to point me in the right direction by sharing any post, pdf, book, website...etc will be welcome.

P.D. I don't have a 3D Printer yet, I want to invest wisely that's why I'm taking my time to learn more of the process and technologies and also the most cost effective one for my application.  At this point I think the application will be for architectural models, medical field and renting time on the 3D printer for individuals or small companies that don't have their own.  So initially and to test waters I have a budget of USD$ 1,500 for the 3D printer... so any advice regarding choosing the right printer will be welcome.
