Topic: Really weird problem with e3d extruder

I recently got the e3d volcano and printed about 10-20 hours with it, all seemed to be going good but now I can't get any prints to come out without looking like this...

It seems like half way into every print it starts over extruding, its not in my slicer or gcode, its something with the extruder itself and I have no clue how to fix this, very frustrating. I've tried cleaning out the nozzle but the plastic seems to come out the end just fine so I have no clue what to do to fix this...

Re: Really weird problem with e3d extruder

The gcode had no errors in it, same slicer settings ive used on all the good prints.

Re: Really weird problem with e3d extruder

I use pronterface and printed that part at 230c abs 50mm/s. Im not sure how to view a old temp chart.

On other print this happens towards the top always.

Re: Really weird problem with e3d extruder

It's maybe time to consider upgrading to RH.

Re: Really weird problem with e3d extruder

Quite honestly, it has to be in the gcode or firmware. It cannot be in the hotend, a hotend is just a heated tube. It doesn't control the flow of plastic.
