Topic: Extruder misaligned ? ABS doesn't go into the hot end

So I got some prints done with mixed luck. But after a lot of thumping and messed up prints I took the filament out and now it doesn't go back into the nozzle. I can see it extruding only as far as the top of the nozzle and then there's thumping again and the wheel is not able to push it in. I took the front off so the nozzle dropped and the wheel is able to push abs as long as it's not blocked by the nozzle, so it's not a problem with the extruder wheel. Also when I push the filament manually into the nozzle it does kinda go through, although it also pushes parts of melted filament back up and some of the extruded filament is brown-ish (?).
I've tried to reassemble it multiple times and I think the top nozzle hole is aligned with the shaft on coolers but the filament just doesn't get in.
Any ideas ?

You may have a clog (burnt ABS). Get a some small wire and push it out. There are a lot of "How to remove clogs" on the forum. With luck you will not need a blow torch.

think I am having the same issue I can push filament through the hot end when it is disassembled but when it is assembled the gear just eats the filament and when I pull it out it is not melted at all.

Re: Extruder misaligned ? ABS doesn't go into the hot end

It was a clog.
I wasn't able to take the hot end completely apart but I tried drilling from the top and cleaned with a little acetone until I really saw the light at the end of the nozzle.
It wasnt a complete clog, I was able to stick a needle all the way down, but taking a drill to it really showed how much dust was stuck on the walls and at the bottom.
The extrusion works fine, now I can try to get anything to stick to the glass again (need another glue stick)

Quick question in regards to this - there wasn't a PEEK tube in the hot end, right? I'm having  the same problem as the initial description, but I want to make sure that I didn't somehow melt something that ruined EVERYTHING.

No PEEK.

I don't know what PEEK is but I didn't put the whole thing into acetone, just a light rub from the bottom and as far from the top as I could get with a nail. It did smell funny for a while but the extrusion started working again.
Then after 1 print the X/Y axis started jumping funny and the whole thing is broken again but at least the extrusion works?
