Topic: Hot bed is no longer heating up. Stuck at 59C and Power Output at 127%

I've had my Solidoodle Press for a few weeks and the Heat Bed has never been an issue with temperature. Tonight the Heat Bed is no longer heating up. It feels hot to the touch by the sensor read back is stuck at 59C. So I can't start a print job b/c Soliprint is always waiting for the bed to heat up to 90C and it never goes that high. I couldn't find any loose harness but I did have the PCB out while tweaking the trim pot at one point. But the Heat Bed temperature was never an issue until now. Couldn't tell where the heat sensor is. Not sure if it's part of the heating pad. Now I'm curious if I've somehow burned out the pad.

Anyone else having this issue?

I just took a picture of the heat pad under the plate and saw melted plastic from one of the bigger wires. The heating pad itself looks damaged as well. It looks like it was overheating.

I dissected the heating pad by cutting out the silicone where the burnt marks were and found a small gauge wire burnt and severed from the input lead. So I did a dirty job of soldering all the leads together while its upside down and powered up the heating bed. It worked. It's now maintaining 90c with occasional glow in the thin exposed wires. But it seems to be stable despite the glow. It appears the severed contact forced too much current into the rest of the wires which caused the overheating at the input node while having a lack of heat on the overall pad.
