Topic: Y axis "home position" is moving to the front

Since i received my Press in the last week, I had a lot of problems.

Some of the fixes are found in this great community, however there is still one big problem:

Only in a very few cases the "Home Y" works for me to moves the extruder back to the limitation switch. (Y=0).

The normal behavor is that the Y axis home (Y=0) moves towards me (in 10mm steps) until it crashed to the front frame limit, with a loud noise.

I am using Soliprint 1.1.1 on an Windows 8.1 x64 machine.

However i had a similar behavior in the Repetier Host using the manual control:
* moving the extruder towards the front door is ok - pressing "Home Y" sets home Point to the actual position (which is not the limitation Switch). Moving the extruder towards the back Frame doesn't work.

Does anyone have a solution?

Best regards

Sounds like your Y motor may have its connection inverted. The phases are reversed. You need to look at the main board and make sure the wire color order for the Y motor is the same as the others.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Re: Y axis "home position" is moving to the front

Hello,

it was the same failure like the one on the x-axis microswitch:

the cable inside the plug at the microcontroller end was not correct.

Normally the two outside wires have a closed circuit, when the microswitch for the axis limit is pressed the circuit is opened.

Now it works.

hey how did you fix this ? I think I have a similar problem, but I think the movement is too random for it to be just a reveresed connector.
