Topic: Filament extruder from Heated Compactor?
Imagine a metal box with walls that can be moved inward and heated.
Would it be possible to melt and compact the plastic at the same time into a block.
Then turn the block into a strand?

How would you "turn the block into a strand"?
This wounds more complicated (and expensive) than a granulator + extruder.
Perhaps compress it into a large heated pipe, but use a hydraulic jack to push a plunger sort of like a bench top arbor press...
There are industrial extruders that use a ram rather than a screw. The disadvantage is that you can't feed pellets continuously, you are limited to what fits in the barrel.
