Topic: XYZ 1.0 Slicing Issue

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this one no pun intended. I own a XYZ DaVinci 1.0 printer and am experiencing slicing issues with certain .stl files. The software I am running is XYZware version 1.1.34.7. The file imports into the XYZ printing program fine however it does not properly slice prior to printing. Do I need to download a different slicing program and printing software or modify the .stl file? If someone could give some tips or walk me through this I will be ever grateful, I'm very eager to print this part I created. I have included two pictures that illustrates the slicing issue. Thanks.

Have you actually tried printing it? Sometimes it may not render properly but will still print correctly.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Yes, It literally comes out exactly what it looks like sliced.

Re: XYZ 1.0 Slicing Issue

My personal experience indicates that the slicing problem you have encountered is most often due to a "leaky" model. It is most often corrected simply by running your STL file through a fixer program like netfab.

Re: XYZ 1.0 Slicing Issue

Netfabb everything before you print.  It's cheap insurance.  This is what I use: https://modelrepair.azurewebsites.net/index.php

It's fast, easy and it's free.  I also have the Netfabb software, but the online engine is much better at repairing models.

Re: XYZ 1.0 Slicing Issue

I also ran into a problem slicing even after running it through netfab. This stl wont slice properly my in my usual, the bundled Repetier .92 Slicr3r ver 1.1.7.But it will silce in the bundled Cura(https://github.com/repetier/CuraEngine). I think this the only stl that Netfabb didn't fix 99% of the time.
