Topic: solution to loose prints on bed

Whatever the cause, you are often in the situation where the
print looks like it will eventually come loose when the print is well progressed and
high, thus any pushing on purtuding plastic threads usually pulls the print off.

Here is a quick and easy solution.

Tack your prints in the early stage (10 per cent) with pva glue. Simply put a few beads of
pva glue onto the sides of the print. The pva quickly dries and holds very well to the hot bed.
If you have a large pva bottle, transfer the glue into one of those pen glue sticks so you
can get into the sides of the print. You can of course pause the printing as you do this.

The pva scraps off no problem.

sounds good. however it involves to open the door which I think could produce some warping. Nonetheless I may try this trick if needed.

Yet another raft that comes off. The thermosister has to be wrong. The rafting layer looks fine but
just does not adhere. Now the uhu small bottle got used up quickly and the only glue that looks
and smells similar is amos glue stick. could be entirely wrong.

But the pva tacking has come to the rescue again for the second attempt, with careful placement along the edges and in between the raft layers in the middle.  But this is time consuming, too much child minding.

Well, the davinci's bed does not heat up consistently. Sides and corners on my 1.0 are around 10ºC lower then the center, so consider that.

Elmers glue stick in the white or purple to clear type works better thsn that  UHU stuff and cleans up with water. You can buy it anywhere that sells school and office supplies. One coat will last for several prints.

I've found that my bed is hotter near the back so I move my printer closer to it,  I use a lot of glue and I also jacked the bed heat up to 100C with zerocart. I get pretty good prints. I got some bad ones with xyz's purple filament, changed it out and went with a generic white and bump my extruder temp up to 220C, seems to be working pretty well now, though I probably need to clean my nozzle and level my bed, haven't done it in a couple of months.

I don't use rafts because they ruin the prints. I use kapton tape with UHU glue on top of that and the prints stick amazingly well. The only problem is they are literately stuck to the bed after they finish. I usually wait for the bed to totally cool. Then put warm water, not too much, around the glued bases of the print and let it sit for a few mins. Then using the plastic wedge I can usually pry part of the edge up and slide it slowly under the print not forcing it and it pops the print off with a piece of cake. The kapton tape may get damaged in the process unless you use thicker tape.

I have a Makerbot Replicator 2x so I am printing ABS on .005" Kapton (I ordered it from McMaster Carr)
I scuff it with 320 wet or dry paper and then wipe with Acetone before I print.
I run My bed temp at 110°C.
I do not have any problems wit the part lifting off the bed unless the bed becomes un-level.
