Topic: SD using new belt tension and lmu88's

So I ordered this setup weeks ago (before I did Lawsey conversion just to have as a backup because you had to demolish old one to salvage parts (my case I didnt) anyway looks like they have started doing something right. Not sure if the workbenches come with this setup but here it is. If this is old hat or a duplicate post feel free to remove it mods, sorry.

yeah my machine had this setup. surprising they went to linear bearings on X and not Y, considering X is the easy axis to move and is not as prone to skewing up if you use teflon blocks and bushings. oh well.

Ok mine was all teflon...and had tension screws up top. Mine must have been way old in that case. Nvm thought maybe it was something new...wrongo again

They've only been doing it for the last 6 months or so I think. When I joined here no one knew anything about my systems drive really

A few tweaks to their Y carriages they could accept lmu88's no problem. Wish the files were available to tinker with, and it would cost them nothing to use bearings all around...literally pennies

If they cheaped out on them they'd throw a lot away. Good bearings are expensive. I bought some cheap Chinese ones off of RRD and regret every penny I spent. Misumi was the way to go. 4 out of 12 of the RRD bearings were throwaway.
