Topic: Josh - Spartanburg SC

Hi all, my name is Josh, and I am located in Spartanburg SC area. I went to school for Electronics Engineering, which landed me my current job, at which we are experimenting with 3D printing. More info available on that if anyone is curious.

We currently have a Makerbot Replicator 2X and a Filastruder. We also have a Makerbot Digitizer (scanner), but honestly I never could get it to really work for what we needed.

We were really interested in a more expensive printer from 3D Systems or Stratasys, but the material cost turned out to be way too expensive for what we needed to do. We need something that can print 50 grams worth of material for under two bucks, and with their printers it ended up being anywhere from $5-15! With my filastruder, 50 grams now costs around 50 cent!

Anyway, if anyone is interested, I would be happy to give a little more info on what we're doing. It would be great to hear suggestions from you guys!

Re: Josh - Spartanburg SC

Josh:

I would like to create a fitted pad to place on the console of my car so that my dog will not step on the buttons and activate the various functions.

Also perhaps create a barrier device to keep the dog in the backseat of a 2 door car.  As far as I can discover  all such devices are created for 4 door cars with rigid front seats.

Does this apply to what you are doing and are you interested in helping me with this?

How large of a fitted pad and barrier are you needing? I am willing to help point you in the right direction, and get you started on a CAD drawing. I might be able to print it for you too. Send me PM with pictures of the vehicle you're wanting to put it in and some measurements.
