Topic: New Guy!

Hello everyone.

Long time lurker, first time poster here. I just revived my Da Vinci 1.0 AiO printer. I am actually pretty happy with it as of right now and I do plan on modding it after the warranty runs out.

However... Until then, I am using the basic software and I am trying to print a design. Only problem is that it seems that when I tell it to render with supports, the image comes back showing that its missing supports about a 1/4 of an inch above the print bed....

I was wondering if anyone has seen this issue before and if it really was an issue, or just a rendering issue in the software.

I appreciate any help from you guys/gals.

I have attached a picture of the problem I am seeing.

Thanks!

Re: New Guy!

i would try to slice it in slic3r and follow the steps in the "XYZprinting Da Vinci 1.0 Hacking" post to change it into the .3w file format. I would first try running the model through Netfabb or Microsoft 3d model fixer to see if that works first.

Re: New Guy!

Hello!

I did run the file though the microsoft fix site. I can try the netfabb one and see if the results are any different.

I haven't really gotten into the slic3r program, but I have read about it on here. I will try to tinker around with it and see if it will change anything.

Thanks for the help so far guys! I really appreciate it!

Howdy!

Great news, I figured out the problem. I was originally using a raft when printing, and that was causing the issue. I repaired the model like you suggested and I sliced it with out the raft, and POOF! Worked perfect.

Its printing now so we shall see how it goes.

Thanks for all the help. I am sure I will be posting more questions as time goes on!
