Topic: Repetier-Host

From what I gather,  Repetier-Host  looks like the all in one solution to use with the SD 3d printers.I guess there is no need to
d/l and install  per SD's instructions on the main site, am I correct in this assumption? Looking for the easy way to run the printer.

Re: Repetier-Host

If you go for Repetier Host you don't need to download and install the Solidoodle package, that's correct.

Re: Repetier-Host

I never downloaded or installed the software that Solidoodle recommended originally.  I've used Repetier Host and Slic3r from the start, and am happy with them.  Some people report problems/anomalies with Slic3r, depending on which release they are using.

Re: Repetier-Host

Will I have to update the firmware in  the SD3 when I get it to use  Repetier Host ?

Re: Repetier-Host

Most likely not.  From what I think I understand, Solidoodle is leaning towards that as their printing software.

Re: Repetier-Host

The only issue with firmware was that homing was broken in the original release.  There is no firmware update needed for Repetier for printera shipped since Oct.
