Re: SD2 project

got the frames them selves bent riveted in the process of making custom jigs to get the rod holes drilled. They have to be very precise. After I finish the holes all thats left is the paint jobs. I'll post some pics tonight after work to show the progress

Re: SD2 project

get a Whitney punch or Greenlee for the holes if frames are sheet metal bent on a brake. thats how you get clean holes made.

Solidoodle 2 with Deluxe kit cover & glass bed with heater. and 2nd board SD2 used not 3rd and alum platform not installed yet still wood. also need cooling fan installed to board. use Repetier Host couple vers. Slic3r also have all free ware STL programs

Very excited. I'm interested in buying one off of you, I will probably transfer my current printer to a new frame.

Re: SD2 project

Looking good, I can't wait to get my frame too!  Well, I can wait since I'm still sourcing the other parts too but you know...

If you end up going with a geared design for the bowden extruder, let me know and I could do the gears in nylon for you.  Its way quieter than ABS or PLA gears and less friction too.

SD4 w/ RUMBA, E3D Volcano, all bearings, glass bed

Re: SD2 project

yeah i do a good bit of metal work. I have a Whitney as well. I will in fact be doing some SD3 Frames as well. But it will be heavier gauge steel bc unlike a lot of companies I have standards. Ill post some pics afterwhile, Im working on a 24x24x24 for a fellow soliforum member here.
