check the connector to the hot end.
is that the small white cable or the large red one?

They are one and the same. The white cable runs into the red sleeve to insulate it from the other wires in the bundle. The connector you are looking for is connected to the white portion of the wire above the extruder assembly.
So i took the extruder off, and everything looked like it was plugged in, I still get the same problem, does anyone have any pictures to show what i am supposed to do?
when i said the white cable, it looks almost clear and their are two of them going into the side of the extruder fyi.
and the extruder heats on its own,. i didn't turn the extruder on and just burnt the hell out of my hand haha
The clear wires are for the Thermisistor. The white wires running into the red sleeving toward the extruder side are the power lines for the heater core. The black connector above the extruder that connects it to the mainboard is a known issue. Many people replace this connection with something more robust. Basically the pins inside of the connector start to develop loose contact and do not heat the hot end. A relatively easy fix is to unplug this black plug, slightly bend the pins such that the pins "scrape" with the connector when plugged. This will give a better connection, although I would suggest changing out the plug with something like a Deans connector similar if you are apt in soldering.

If you are running stock that is a setting accessed by the LCD to preheat the head and bed at power up. it can be turned off as it is not needed.
