Topic: Two issues with the x-axis

I've looked around the forum and not seen an answer to the two problems I have.

Wen the printhead travels along the x-axis it makes a very loud humming noise. maybe due to a loose belt? and in jog mod it is 50/50 if the printhead moves at all. the noise is still there.

the second is after the printhead travels past the middle of the print bed it will no longer travel in the - direction.

anyone ever deal with issues like these? is it a bad motor, wire connection, loose belt?

thanks for reading

Check the connector on the X-axis motor to be sure that it's fully seated, and, that no wires look damaged.

i have. When moving the wires the head will sometimes work.

when it does work the head will always travel in - direction. even in jog mode when i tell it to go in a + direction.

are there replacements for those wires? or do I have to send the whole machine back?

If you only are having the travel issue when you jog it manually it is a software issue and not a hardware problem. As for the other issue with noise I am having the same problem as well and I think it is the case vibrating somewhere.... I have no idea how to fix it though...

For vibration, I have seen that some people insert thin spacers between the cover parts and the frame and say that it helped.

it happens in jog mode or during a normal print. the motor spins the belt gear 3 times in the direction its not supposed to go and then once in the direction it is supposed to travel in. it stutters like this all the way to the home position.

A lot of times these issues like this can be caused by a bad home sensor. The sensors are interchangeable on this machine. So I would suggest taking the Z sensor at the back and swapping for the x sensor top right and see if the problems still persist.

Re: Two issues with the x-axis

I changed the sensors and the same thing is happening. the head will not move. now since I have turned it off to switch the sensors I get an error 30 message on boot
