Topic: Filament not coming out of the nozzle

Hi,

I have a davinci AiO 3D Printer. My problem is, that the printer is not printing at all.

The Filament is in the nozzle and when it heats up, there is some stuff coming out of it, but when I start printing the demo for example the printer moves like it should but there is nothing coming out of the nozzle. Any suggestions, what that might be?

Thanks

First try to re do the bed leveling...There is a sticky info at top using paper or try the built in calibration on the menu screen.  If that does not work then you may have a print head jam.
Good Luck.

Also it is most likely the bad connector issue that so many Da Vinci users have.

On youtube search "Fixing the Davinci 1.0 - 0011 Extruder Error Video #031" for info and details on how to fix it.

Sorry about the link, but i am not allowed to post links i guess.

Re: Filament not coming out of the nozzle

First I thought it's a levelling problem, but I did a calibration and it's still not working. I'll try to find the issue you're talking about.

Funny thing is, I don't get any error message. The printer thinks it's printing but in fact it isn't...

Re: Filament not coming out of the nozzle

I never got errors either, because when the extruder is in the home postion, it heated fine.  As soon as the print started it would ittermitently fail and then finally it just stopped extruding.

You can test the connector by tweaking it with your hand and seeing if you can get the extruder temp to stop rising at the beginning of the print.

you only would get the error message if the extruder could not get to temperatue at the beginning of the print.  I remember working thru this myself, wondering why I was not getting an error message.

Re: Filament not coming out of the nozzle

I had the same problem with my Duo. Initially the bed was out of calibration and caused the same issue that you are having.

I found that the extruder was too close to the print bed and blocked the feed of the filament. Once the feed gets blocked the feeder mechanism scratches the filament to the point where it can not get good purchase on the filament and it slips.

You can do a Load filament and it will often feed some material but in most cases not. Once the filament is scratched this problem will persist.

The way I solved this was to do a filament unload then cut off the scratched section of filament and then reloaded.

After that it printed fine.
