Which is better?
I used the bed leveling wizard and got decent prints. Today, I tried a test. I used the bed leveling wizard and then ran an internal calibration and it failed big time. After spending a half hour tweaking and testing it passed and the numbers were all within 5 units of 100. I then went back to the bed leveling wizard and that piece of paper wouldn't fit under the nozzles in any of the locations.
I used the Amazon App so that it passed the Da Vinci calibration test, then tried the paper method (level bed until nozzle grips paper) and it didn't seem to give me good prints and the calibration numbers were way out.
In the end, I put a spirit level on the bed and then adjusted that way. Done some prints and they seem ok, but seen some gaps in the layers in some places.

Once you use the paper method you are not supposed to run the auto cal again as it changes the previous stored values. The paper method is a tried and true method by many veteran 3D printers. This inaccurate autocal stuff has only popped up in the last few years. If you follow the sticky posted at the top of this section you should not have any issues with printing related to the bed. If you do still have bad prints then it is related to your settings, either temperature or speed.
I am getting good reliable prints with Simplify3D after using the firmware cal in the DaVinci. I think a piece of sheet steel the thickness of paper would be better. Is there a standard for the thickness?

Use a feeler gauge, that's what I do. The thickness is .15mm..

Thanks, that is just what I needed.
.15mm was a disaster. The left extruder just made blobs of filament. I ended up using the 0.05mm feeler and the prints are fantastic.

The 2.0 is said to be able to do .1 layers. That being said .05 would be correct. The manual procedure was written before the 2.0 had been fully released. The 1.0 does not do .1 layers. So it is optimum to be set at .15. I was not aware you where talking about a 2.0 at the time.
