Using the stepper motors, end stops, and heat bed from the DaVinci.
Not sure if I am going to do it just want opinions.

That board comes with mechanical endstops or basically lever switches. The Da Vinci uses optical endstops. So you would need to contact Sainsmart and see if that board is compatible with optical endstops. They actually have a website and webstore. Otherwise it will work fine.
You may also want to read the reviews on that stuff from Sainsmart. They don't have the best track record. Their stuff is cheap and you get what you pay for. I would go with Panucatt Devices and one of his several controllers. Roy the owner is US based and will go out of his way to make you happy.

Thanks carl. I will look into Panucatt. I am just thinking about doing the conversion so I can get away from xyz's crap they are pulling but I don't want to use the Davinci board.

I will be changing my board out in a week or so. I bought the Azteeg X5 mini from Panucatt. I will also be changing my Head to my on carriage and a B3 Innovations PICO hot end
I've used Ramps1.4 in my other printers, and they have worked well. Most connections are fairly straight forward. Getting the Configuration for the DaVinci right in Marlin would take a bit... There are a couple folks on voltivo installing Ramps in their DaVinci's. You might want to go check out their threads.
Don't get me wrong, RAMPS is fine and one of the oldest controllers out there. I just would be cautious of Sainsmarts version. I bought their E3D clone once and followed directions to a T but it leaked more than it extruded. They cut corners in most of their products and like I said with Sainsmart you get what you pay for.
Just out of curiosity (this wouldn't be something I'd want to undertake) but what's the advantage of replacing the DaVinci controller with a RAMPS controller?

You can use any open source controller out there, and you really don't need the LCD or control pad. When used with an open source controller the HOST can directly control all functions of the printer.
The only critical factor is that the controller must support OPTICAL endstops and NOT Mechanical. It would take extensive modifications to mount mechanical endstops in this unit in place of the optical.
