Topic: Bad Scan Results with AIO

I really couldn't find any more users using this new Da Vinci version, but as I could see the 1.0 results, I assumed the risk that bought this version. I'm really disappointed! I've tried some You Tube tips, XYZ Support but I can't get the same results as XYZ show at videos. I've tried a simple Lego Duplo, a square using all the available options and none of them could result in a real scanned piece. I calibrated also following the instructions and no way. I can get better results using any other iphone/ipad app or Skanect, but using the Da Vinci scanner, never.

My crucial question. Maybe I'm doing some wrong procedure? Or do we have some user here with the same experience?

Based on reviews the Aoi can't scan well anything less than two inches. This includes parts on the scan. The item can't be reflective or transparent,  nor can it have light and dark alternating surfaces.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!
Anycubic 4MAX best $225 ever invested.
Voxelabs Proxima SLA. 6 inch 2k Mono LCD.
Anycubic Predator, massive Delta machine. 450 x 370 print envelope.

I looked at the AiO and - based on reviews - decided against it due to the scanner sounding like it really didn't work that well, or at all. Wish I had better news, maybe you can still exchange/return it?

Skanect looks interesting. Have you tried the pro edition? What do you think?

Laser scanners are that way. To get a good 3d scanner for small parts you need cash or use a program that mix 50photos from different angles. Even so without a 3d scanner spray (to paint the surface grey withut reflections) it's almost imposible. If you want to scan seriusly the aio can get you decent results but you need to prep the surface. With a kinect you can get good scans but not for small objects smile
