Topic: What are my hacking option?

OK so I am kind of lost on what kind of hacks are available
for my printer after reading all of the posts.

I have the latest Da Vinci 1.0A with firmware 1.0.3 and newest
motherboard.

I have been using Simplify3D and it works great but I don't
have full control like temperatures and no machine control.

What are my options?

I got a xyzerocart for mine, it lets you reset the filament counter, bed temp and extruder temp, and allows you to use whatever filament you want to some extent. It's sad you have to spend more money to gain control you should already have, but this is a hobby and when the warranty is up, then let the hacking begin.

get a arduino nano. Then you can flash filament length, extruder temp and bed temp into an old cartridge and refill it with whatever filament you want.

Da Vinci 1.0 stock firmware and stock xyzware.
3D printer Noob.
Stock ABS filaments

So the XYZerocart spoofs the printer and the arduino spoofs the cartridge.

I found the XYZerocart for about 100 bucks, do you have a link to the arduino nano that
works with the Da Vinci, I could not find it.

Thanks

They both reprogram the cart to make the machine think it is a new cart. The Arduino will require you to wire a contact point up to access the three contact points on the cart.

Re: What are my hacking option?

How does repetier compare to the above couple hacks?

Re: What are my hacking option?

You can also use an Arduino Uno to make resetter. Slightly more bulky but it does the same job.
I don't bother with one now as I use 1.1.E firmware in conjunction with the xyzware open mod which disables the filament counter.
