Its in that pic it says RUMBA/TAURINO-ATmega2560 compatable (com3)

So you're good there then. Can you post the console output next, without sending any additional commands after connecting? Would be good to know what commands it's waiting for.

It shouldn't matter what it is waiting for it is waiting because it isn't connected to R-H

Im DL RH version you have now and will change that. in new version 1.0.6 the board flashes yellow light...but in older 0.85b when printer is connected light stays lit...

Re: SOLVED-SD4 extruder problems kind of

As promised here are my configuration files. Note that in configuration_adv.h, I have it set up to run the fans for 10 minutes after the steppers shut down, but you can shorten this if you want. My board is still inside the enclosure which gets hot so I do this to make sure they get plenty of time to cool down. The steps per mm are for 1/32 microstepping in here, so keep that in mind. I used 1/32 on X,Y,Z,E.

PS: You will need a fan pointed at the board or your motors will start skipping. Here is a little 40mm fan mount I made that will snap onto the SD4 motherboard mount.  Print it on its side and it wont need supports.

Re: SOLVED-SD4 extruder problems kind of

I had to run out snd will post pics of how I have stuff hooked up (although I'm leaning more towards software issue) but for the endstops I used meter, set to continuity and when i found wire that buzzed and than stopped when i hit switch I hooked that up to - (c on the switch, and the other to S)....in case that was wrong I also reversed plug so the two wires would be on the other the c on the s...still got nowhere...also will the terminals for extruder knly get voltage once board isnTRULY recognized by RH...a few posts back I said that whole bank has no voltage, stepper drivers do and 5v and 12v pin outs towards top next to first motor hookup....the printeboard had to go and take a shit on me....I was gunna do this anyway but figured i wouldnt want to punch my cat in the face out of frustration

Re: SOLVED-SD4 extruder problems kind of

I'm realizing now that Arduino IDE doesn't show line numbers... (edit: it's on the bottom of the screen)

Also, make sure you match the baud rate with the firmware! By default, it is 250,000 in the firmware. Make sure RH matches.

One additional note: my configuration.h file is set up for the e3d, so if you copy my file directly make sure you set it back to the defaults.
