Da Vinci calibration calculator

Just giving feedback - do not help at all.  I'm way off now.  Going to find a paper to wedge and bring it back to reasonable numbers.

I had success with this calculator after entering 7 data calibrations and it seems to work pretty well. I am using it on a Da Vinci 1.0. I would like to make 2 comments. First, the adjustment screw diagram seems backwards for my printer. I have 2 screws at the back and 1 in the front center. My measurement points are 1 rear right and 2 in the front. I just assumed the diagram for the screws was rotated and adjusted accordingly. The second point is that the program seems to want to calibrate to an offset of 100. I thought that the recommended setting was 200-250. Overall the program is helpful and I suspect any errors I have were due to approximating how much I rotated the screws.

I removed the bed adjustment thumbwheels and marked them with red paint at the 0 and 180 degree positions and with blue paint at the 90 and 270 degree positions. My thumbwheels have 50 ridges on them so this corresponds to 7.2 degrees per ridge. After putting the wheels back on and running about a dozen standard calibrations (individual adjustments of 90-360 degrees per wheel) I was able to get a successful calibration of 230 (aiming for 225 at all 3 points) from a starting position of 325,345,165 in only 1 adjustment. I consider that very successful considering I used to take at least several tries to get into calibration from much closer starting values. I have since been able to calibrate successfully in 1 adjustment 4 times over the last week. One point to note is that sometimes the DaVinci doesn't seem to get the correct values when probing so if your result doesn't make sense such as a large value change for a small adjustment or increase when you expected a decrease, just run calibrate again without making any changes to verify the result. Also, minor variations are minimized by just doing your setup calibrations with 360 degree adjustments rather than smaller values. I recommend +/- 360 for each wheel individually and then a couple of combinations of 2 or more wheels.

An android apk for calibration is available for free via amazon app store.!!

I would buy a Ios app or even a Windows app. I have a Winbook so either one would work.

hang on you mean i wasted 6 hrs getting my BRAND NEW 2.0A calibrated and their is an Android Ap :S

sorry your calc kept putting my 2.0 further and further away , kept telling me to add turns

in the end got my spirit leveler then kept winding them back evenly until i was near 100 again on the calibrations  .. 1 hr later started getting pass's

apparently 1 turn is worth 50 numbers ?

Barry1685- that sounds like a good idea, so why not give us specifically what to do (I'm totally new to this stuff) rather than just telling us we're doing it the hard way? I for one would REALLY appreciate it.

Those numbers represent in decimal the distance between the nozzle and build plate. For example 215 would be .215mm.. Just save yourself a ton of heartache and do this.. It is the correct and tried and proven method of bed leveling.
