Topic: what kind of fiberglass mat does Solidoodle use below the heatpad?

The one's I've found are kind of different. They are less wooly, its very easy to get holes between the braids and cutting it is pure nightmare.
is ordinary fiberglass fabric not what should be used?

You can use regular fiber glass fabric.

Thats cause you must search fiberglass INSULATED mat...this withstands 1200°F

OneMoreCast, that's not what Solidoodle uses...
As for regular fiberglass mat, I've bought some, but it is not as "wooly" as the one Solidoodle uses, there are holes because of this.
And regular fiberglass fabric has some shininess to it, while Solidoodle's doesn't.

That was only for example...if you add insulated in search beit google or ebay more hits come up. The reflective one is deff wrong but they have ones with out it.

These are ceramic, might be what SD uses and not FG Scroll down has wooly mats...but prob have to order a ton. Stuff is out there just search a bithttp://www.thermaxxjackets.com/products … s/ceramic/

its like the stuff car buffs use to wrap headers etc

Solidoodle 2 with Deluxe kit cover & glass bed with heater. and 2nd board SD2 used not 3rd and alum platform not installed yet still wood. also need cooling fan installed to board. use Repetier Host couple vers. Slic3r also have all free ware STL programs

Still doesnt look what Solidoodle uses. Which looks like the ones I linked, just less shiny and slim.

What properties do you want...are you looking for exact replacement, or something to withstand heat and easily cut/attached/etc...sorry red didnt read first post fully
