Topic: Best hopper?

Hey guys! I've got my Filastruder working overtime right now as I ordered 20lbs of ABS. I am running into an issue though, it is vertically mounted and I'm running into issues with the hopper feeding down properly.

This is the one I'm currently using.... Any suggestions?

Re: Best hopper?

Could you use a small vibrating motor to help shake the pellets down?

Re: Best hopper?

Look in the comments, that one isn't set up for vertical use. IanJohnson made one, check it out.

I tried the one from IanJohnson and couldn't quite get it on my filiastruder so I scrapped it, maybe I'll slice it up to have an open design like this one.

Re: Best hopper?

I made a second version with an open design, did you see it? - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:277996  There is also a trap door for dumping pellets and a window to see how full the hopper is.

Re: Best hopper?

keep it a very slight angle for vertical to avoid the problem with feeding.

haven't had problems with this without a shaker or anything.
