Topic: Solidoodle 4 carriage mount of a dial indicator?

Does anyone have an already modeled mount for a dial indicator on a Solidoodle 4?

Or the basis one one that I can work from? i want to attach it by magnets if possible.

I suppose the other option is to mount it on the rails, which I've heard some people have success with.

Suggestions?

Thanks

Scott

Mounting on the carriage is a sure fire disaster. The carriage rocks too much to get accurate and reproducible readings. I never did get my bed level till I built my rail mount. I have a solidoodle 2, but if they didn't change the rail spacing, it might work on a solidoodle 4:

Thanks! Since you included the source files, hopefully it'll be easy to change it if they have.

I did make the one Claghorn suggested. But the mount for the dial calipers didn't really work well for me.

I found another which seemed tight on the rails. So I took that design idea, re-modled it using some magnets rather than force, and have been intending to print it, but I screwed up my BuildTak. (which is amazing with PLA and a cold bed)

So hoping to start it now. I'll post it to Thingiverse if it actually works well.

I've had really good success with the back and forth checking with a feeler gauge. I hope this will be better though
