Topic: Delrin printable lmu88 bearings!?

I searched acetal and not much came up. Was thinking of possibly trying to fab carriage bearings out of delrin because it moves super slick over metal. The small search and reading I have done came up w it being finicky and a big trial and error (like any of this). Worse comes to worse I want to possibly look into getting them outsourced. I know from my paintball days of upgrading to a delrin bolt (strong, no lube and lightweight) also why I thought of using them as the bearings. Any thoughts or experience chime in, please. After all I'm just a guy with silly ideas

Delrin is exceedingly difficult to print, for starters.

But don't let that discourage you! big_smile

Re: Delrin printable lmu88 bearings!?

I just ordered the e3d v6...in the case of me forging ahead, that would have no problem handling acetal filament would it!? The 1.75 w bowden is what I ordered.

Yes, the hotend will handle it fine.

There are safety issues, as well as feasibility issues covered here:
