Topic: Head Busts with Reconstruct Me

These are still a work in progress, but I thought I would share the unfinished heads straight out of the printer before I move on to finishing them and the project.  The small white ones are the ones I will be using and all of the other ones were calibration and experimentation.

Are you using the Asus or Kinect to scan and are these all the low res profile?

Thanks, the hardest part by far was having everyone patient enough to get good scans.  I tried several times to get scans of the couples sitting together, but they just weren't coming out well.  I want to try the deal where you have several scanners and get a more thorough object.  I used the Kinect and half of these are low res and half are high res.  I lost some of the best scans because I saved them and then closed the program too quick.

Can you explain how you use a Kinect to do the scans?

Here is the final version of the head busts.  I made them into a candle holder with some of the translucent filament from Jamie at http://www.3dprintergear.com.au/   The stuff is really cool and Jamie has been fantastic.  I am about to finish up another cool project using his filament and the photo2mesh application.  Anyways, my mom was thrilled with this candle holder that has her children and grandchildren in it.
