Re: warped bed how can I fix it

My bed is warped so I print on glass. Not really sure what you're looking for beyond buying a new bed. If you want to print on a flat surface you'll need a flat surface. Why are you opposed to printing on glass?

If someone has invented a de-warping trick for aluminum I don't know about it. wink

Re: warped bed how can I fix it

The Makerbot does not use a screw on the Z limit switch
the limit switch touches the bed Frame and if I make any changes it will void the
makercare plan. I talked to Makerbot about the warped bed and they said all beds warp
and basically to live with it. I can not print  at 100 micron layer resolution. because of this.

Re: warped bed how can I fix it

Sounds like the kind of mod you could easily undo in the event of needing warranty. You'll think of something. Glass is the only option for making it flat that I know of beyond replacing the bed, but it will just warp again.

Sounds like you just reinforced jagowilson's recommendation. smile
If it is a fixed switch, and you are adding height to the bed, it should be relatively easy to design a Z screw mount, which is adjustable, to hit the endstop.

Re: warped bed how can I fix it

You could replace it with something like this
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007B4X4C4/ref … &psc=1
But I'm sure that would void the warranty as well.

If I was in your shoes, I would be really piss to spend that kind of money and then have the company tell me to live with it.

If you use a raft, after the 1st few layers of the raft, shouldn't  your print head be level with the raft? (AKA - Level bed) Or am I'm thinking wrong?
