Topic: Blender3D dimensions

Is anybody here using Blender to export STLs? Can anyone one of you explain how the dimensions work in this program? I've set the dimension mode to "metric" but when I export something it shows up x500 smaller in Repetier Host than in Blender.
I also don't see a way to modify data in mm rather than meters in Edit Mode. The measure tool also gives incorrect numbers...

Personally, I save (I think to .dxf) then import to Sketchup.
There are many Blender guides including youtube tutorials.

Printit Mason and Printit Horizon printers
Multiple SD2s- Bulldog XL, E3D v5/v6/Lite6, Volcano, Hobb Goblin, Titan, .9 motor, Lawsy carriages, direct Y drive, fishing line...the list goes on
Filawinder and Filastruder #1870.....worth every penny!

Re: Blender3D dimensions

There is an option in the 'n' menu for displaying the units on the models in blender, its handy but only to a small extent.
Basically what I do is just throw the finished thing into netfabb basic to scale it. Given that netfabb is used in my workflow it really isn't much of a bother.

This is a crowd funding thing that I'm running: http://www.gofundme.com/bvi140 It's for pretty selfish reasons tongue

Hm, so you just, say, treat 1 Blender unit as 1 cm or 1 mm, then make it so in another program?
I think there's some bug in the way Blender works when you set "Units" mode from "None" to metric. The measure tool doesn't seem to work properly, and when you type the numbers when moving/rotating/scaling something, it takes the input numbers as meters, even if you've set to mm ("Scale" factor below the "Units" to 0.001).
