It's been a week now since SD said they were shipping Workbench  Apprentices. Anybody got one yet?

SD3, E3D hotend,linear bearing on x/y axis',pillow block bearing on y conneting rod, ball bearngs on front y axis, fan on y stepper motor.

if shipped by container, 2weeks to a month from china. few days for delivery depending on location in the states. If they get random checked by customs add another month(which would be out of Solidoodles control)

WB are  assembled in NY so they say .

Indeed, and with good news on shipping dates.  A friend of mine actually built a 3d printer in the time since I've pre-ordered my Press.  Oh well. wink

Well on their FB page they stated the WB apprentices would all be shipped by the  Dec 5th.Looks like that wasn't true. I told  them in an email  that I would only purchase from them again if I could get one in less than a week., Got a reply  that sounded
Charles Durnning ( the governor in the movie  BLHHT) side stepped the issue.

Hmmm i read the blog. Looks like a very sincere apology from Sam . Wow the 6-8 weeks has turned to 20 weeks . I hope for the sake of all who ordered pre ordered and for the sake of Sam and SD that these new models are as good s promised.

IMHO they ought to provide 2 test prints ,a circle and a 20mm calibration cube to prove that its doing whats it's supposed to do.Just looking at it does not mean it will work well.

They do a test print. Read the post.

Each printer must pass a stringent final inspection process which involves measuring an actual printed test part to within a fraction of a millimeter.

I canceled mine but my son didn't.  It looks like it might get to his place in Las Vegas about the time I get there for CES.

I wonder what the month in china was like.

If I spent November in China, everyone would get gadgets for Christmas.  The people running the factory probably know all the best  places for shady electronics shopping.  I would also want to try 3D Printer shopping.  There is a guy who posts at RepRap who lives there, and says that Chinese consumers don't put up with the kind of problems everyone has with American hobby printers.  They ship COD and make the delivery guy wait while they do a test print before paying.  Most of them buy Ultimaker based printers at this point, with most Replicator clones going to the west.

Solidoodle 2 with Deluxe kit cover & glass bed with heater. and 2nd board SD2 used not 3rd and alum platform not installed yet still wood. also need cooling fan installed to board. use Repetier Host couple vers. Slic3r also have all free ware STL programs
