Topic: Trouble putting Shaft Collar onto Lead Screw

I can't get the shaft collar to go more than 4mm onto the round part of the lead screw.  I've tried lightly and heavily tapping a screw driver into the gap of the collar, but it just won't budge.  It will just get stuck there and I'll struggle to get it back off again.   I don't want to damage any of the parts. 

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Lead screw? Do you mean feed screw?

It will definitely slide on. You can tap a screwdriver into the gap, it won't hurt anything. Be sure the screwdriver is large enough to open up the collar without bottoming out. You removed the screw from the collar, right?

Yes I meant to say feed screw.

Thanks, I got it, just used a bigger driver.
