Topic: Repetier and filament replacement

After spending a couple weeks trying to get my SD2 to work with my MAC, I surrendered and put it aside for a few months.  I recently saw the posts on using Repetier so thought I would give it another try.  So far I've managed to update the Marlin drivers and have Repetier working.  Now to put filament in the puppy and see if I can get something out :-).  I went to the SD site for instruction but the steps there are for Pronterface.  In Pronterface there are buttons for Extrude and Reverse.  I haven't found similar buttons in Repetier.  Is there a way I missed or do I need to use Pronterface to install the filament?

Re: Repetier and filament replacement

On the Print Panel tab in Reptier-Host-Mac you will see 'Extrude' and 'Retract'.

Under Extruder:
Put Temperature input to 200 and click 'Set Temp' (Heat On button should light up, if not click it)
Set 'Extrude' input and 'Retract' input to 5.

Once extruder is at 200, then you can use those buttons to load your filament as per the instructions on the SD site.

Not familiar with repetier on the mac, but....

On the windows version, not all of the controls are immediately visible on the manual control tab.
See if you have a scroll bar on the sides - you might have to scroll the extrude/retract buttons into view.
