Topic: 3mm filament

I haven't recieved my printer yet, and I have a super noob question. My wife purchased some 3mm filament for me as a Christmas gift. Can the Solidoodle use 3mm or only 1.75mm?

Whoops!  Nope, only 1.75mm.
Maybe someone can design a change out for the extruder that will allow for a different filament type, but you're stuck with 1.75  on the stock SD2 (and SD3 I believe)

Okay, thanks I have contacted the seller, and they're going to let me send this back and swap it for the 1.75 mm

Good to stock up a little... You'll go through a spool faster than you think!

Luck on your wait!

This is the best advice ever lol. It only took me a couple days of off an on printing to really put a dent into my first roll. And of course you want a choice of color to make it interesting.

Order more now.  I got my Solidoodle 1 almost exactly a year ago, and I kept running out of plastic right before the various 3-day holiday weekends, so that any order I placed wouldn't ship until the following Tues.

It's exactly this reason I just stocked up.  I'm going to have 13 days off in a row over the holiday.  If I don't have ABS dripping from my ceiling by new years day I will be upset.

To the original poster, helluva great wife to buy you some filament!!
