Topic: print lifting off bed any suggestions

I have tried to print this twice and it keeps lifting off the bed and getting knocked off by the nozzle.
my print settings are 4 layers 40% infill
I have scuffed up the Kapton with 240 grit paper and wiped down with acetone.
is the infill and No. of layers causing the problem.

What material are you printing with and what are the temps settings you are using?
Also, what is your current infill setting?

From the looks of it, you are a good candidate for glass and hairspray. I never could print directly onto kapton and always had that exact problem.

using ABS, nozzle temp 230°, 40% infill , bed temp 100°.

Try the temp closer toward 240. I'm not familiar with the Makerbot hotends or the placement of their thermistors, so use some caution when doing this.
The 40% should not be effecting this at all. And bed temp looks good.

Have you adjusted your Z tab? You want it to look like a fat, flat ribbon.
If this is still not working out, there are many alternative printing surfaces, BuildTak, PrintinZ, and a simple glass with hairspray as mentioned.

I've had very good success with acetone on a paper towel. Then you rub it on scrap plastic until a light coating is on the paper towel. Add more acetone to the paper towel with the plastic residue, and wipe the bed with it. I can barely remove my prints, usually have to press the kapton down after as it pulls up a little. I have my bed temp at 110C
