Topic: First time 3D Printer
Hello all,
I am new to 3d printing. I have ordered prints before, but i have never owned a 3d printer. I bought a Solidoodle 4 with a 8x8x8 print bed a few months back. When i first got it, i did all the calibrations for getting perfect circles to print. I was having issues with the Repeiter-host, so i downloaded the newest version a few days ago, and it works a lot better now.
I am having a few issues with the prints though.
The material i am using is PLA. I do not have a set of digital calipers yet, but will be getting some soon. I found a good pair on Amazon for 60 dollar. They are Origin.......
1) When the material comes out of the extruder it seems to be too much, because the extruder drags through it causing it to make a valley when printing. I dialed back the flow rate and feed rate to fix that but now its too slow at printing and too thin.
2) the infill is sloppy. I am using the rectangular fill, but it makes a bumpy surface and drags the material. I adjusted the settings in my infill settings, but i cant seem to get those right.
3) When printing, the extruder moves very very slow. It did print fast to start with, but now it is slow. I think that is because i have it making a solid layer every layer. but im not sure why it would be going so slow.
4) the finished top layer is all bumpy and not smooth, not sure which setting i need to make this come out smooth?
Thank you in advance for any help, i have been looking on this forum for a day or so for answers, but not sure exactly what i am looking for. So i apologize for all the noob questions.
