Topic: Malware? Fixed and running! SD card Bug? waiting to attack?

So during the last couple of days I've had some odd print jobs, paused cancelled prints, and then all of a sudden all stringy junks. Two failed prints of the same item halfway (9hr job). the second time i received some sort of message ... looked a lot like malware. I was on firmware J ... reloaded J, recalibrate bed, started another print, now they were stringy, so after checking all the hardware, cleaning the head, etc etc...

I decided to downgraded to G. and calibrated the bed. FIXED

While on J, I also had issues with both the head and bed temps, Post cart malware.

I read somewhere there's a files that has to be deleted on the sd card, I am wondering if this caused some sort of bug with the printer. If anyone can chime in on the files that needs to be deleted, etc... pls lmk.

The last two days have been spent getting to know my printer real well. The plus side is, Upgraded the y axis motor mount (a good reduction in noise), Tabless Carriage bearing upgrade (no more slipping)

Is there a solution for the horrid noise when the X axis reverses (going home above drip tray after calibration)?

What is the "Tabless Carriage bearing upgrade (no more slipping)?

Is the bearing holder an upgrade or more of a replacement part?

I have printed the motor mount, have not installed yet, looking forward to the reduction in noise.

What is the best product to use to lubricate the shafts?

I would call the 3d printed bearing mount an upgrade as it's far stronger than the stock mounts which break very easily.
The one with the cut-outs for M3 nuts will also get round the problem of the threads stripping.

The bearing upgrade keeps the belts tight ... No more tensioning. If you use nylon m3 nuts they never slip.

I also put a few pieces of rubber shims folded in half into the square gaps on the x axis carriage mounts and have seen a small improvement in prints. Noise is about the same.

I've been using Judy butter for lube, but don't recommend it, the viscosity is too low. It doesn't hurt the machine and actually running super smooth, just too thin.
