Topic: Downgrading not working for me :S

Hey guys, I just got my Davinci 1.0 last Saturday and have been playing around with it. When I first installed it, I made the mistake of letting XYZWare upgrade the firmware. Yesterday I tried to downgrade it following instructions from fr333n3rgy. Everything went well until I got to the part about entering the "bossac -p COM8 -R -e -w -v -b 3DP01_FW_V1.1.J.bin" line into the command prompt. When I enter that line another dos window pops up for an instant and closes again without letting me see what it says, ( I think it may be saying something about a file not being found, but not positive about that), and nothing happens with the printer...   I still have the 2 bars on the LCD. 

Is there something I'm doing wrong or am I missing files?
I have bossac in the root directory along with the .bin file as well...   I even tried to put "c:\" before bossac and the .bin file as well, but still no go.
I also tried the XYZ Downgrader app that was mentioned on here as well, and still nothing...
Any help would be much appreciated.

Don't enter that line in to the command prompt.

You need to actually run cmd. Preferably as admin, but either way that puts the dos window up and it stays up. Then when you put in the bossac command line you'll see the result and not have the window close. From there you can figure out what's wrong.

I'd bet your using the wrong com port, which if you installed the arduino software you can check which port it see the due on.

I tried it the way you said and 3 times I got a reply something to the effect that it was erasing and then something like file or directory not found...

I tried it a fourth time and apparently it worked...

I have no idea what the actual problem was, but at least I could see it doing something the way you told me to do it smile

When I first installed it last Saturday it took 3 times of installing and uninstalling before it finally registered on my computer then as well :S
