Topic: Press (almost) Owners, whats next?

The number of people canceling their Press orders is growing because of the delays.  I am one of them.

What I'm wondering is what I should invest my $400 on instead.  What have you all seen that looks cool? Any good Press competitors that are not vaporware?

What would you consider a competitor?  All 3D printers in general in that price range, or just assembled and enclosed?  I think the DaVinci may be the only comparable one, but not necessarily a better choice.  Since you already have a printer, if time isn't really an issue it might be worth waiting for the Press to show up at the discounted price.  Then Ebay it for a little less than full retail and spend $600 on a different printer rather than $400.   There's no telling what the lead times will be like once they start shipping, but for awhile SD2s would sell on Ebay for full price or more because they were ready to ship while new orders had to wait 8+ weeks.

After playing around with the solidoodle 2 I bought, any new printer I get will almost certainly be home built. I'm gradually getting this urge to build a delta printer of some kind.
