Solidoodle has a Vimeo account now with a few videos on leveling the print bed, changing the heat core, and removing Y backlash. The last one is especially interesting.

youtube is unblocked, vimeo is blocked at my work, go figure.
I do notice a slight rocking back and forth of the rod he mentioned, I wonder if all of this is worth fixing the .05mm difference I have in my Y axis.
Where can the videos be found? I see the link to the leveling one...how do I find the others?
They are thumbnails at the top of the page. If you are on a phone you will need to go to the non mobile version linked at the bottom of the page. They just added another on replacing the hot end.
SD just put another video up
Keep doing this and the support guy will have little work ![]()
Hot End Replacement This guy is great at making it look easy.
Thanks for the videos solidoodle, these will be very helpful for the community!
I've added the 4 current videos to the wiki Modification and Calibration pages.
Those grooved tweezers are key for replacing the hot end. I've always done it the hard way, taking apart the acrylic rather than removing the mounting plate because I couldn't find anything that would jam the mounting plate screws hard enough to keep them from spinning when I tried to take off the lock nuts.
Humm, is the Y-carriage meant to move that smoothly forward and back when the motor is connected? I get quite a lot of resistance on mine.
We just put up a new video. http://wiki.solidoodle.com/nozzle-replacement

A wiki page and everything, thanks John! A list of needed tools would be nice to see.
I would like to see a video on required maintenance procedures. Coming from no real engineering or 3d printing experience, this stuff can seem pretty daunting at first even though it is easy.
Having a video to help people new to this sort of thing can make them feel more confident and secure in their ability to do these things the right way and with the right materials would be awesome.
I see a different heater core/block on the nozzle in the video. Are you guys gonna be selling those soon? I don't see it yet in the spare parts of the website.
ok what thickness is a "metro card" , why not use a feeler gauge? It would be more precise, IMHO Oh doesnt it come level when you get a new SD?

If you order the one on the spare parts page, they send you the new one.

PID Autotune after replacing the new hot end or heat core.

Thanks, guess I must have been on the tail end of getting the old ones.
