Topic: New filament issues after using resetter.....

Have any of yall had the issue of really bad prints after switching to new filaments and using a restter on the old cartridge? I upped my extruder temp to 215 (had it at 225 and still didnt work) and my bed i still have at 90. My prints are coming out stringy and once its done, the final product is spongy and just kinda crumples to pieces when squeezed. i am using HATCHBOX black filament currently.

Its odd because when printing with rafts, the first layer is perfect! then once it starts the second one, the lines get really thin and strung out..... I have no idea what to do and any help would be awesome! Attached is a pic of what is happening...

And before all this, while using the stock filament, i was getting pretty good solid prints. Not great as far as looks, but way better than right now.

Thanks!

Re: New filament issues after using resetter.....

It was stated some where that the resetting of the cartridge isn't enough, if the printer firmware is version J or later. The serial number of the  cartridge has to be changed as well. You should use the resetter that changes the serial number as well, or downgrade the firmware. I made my own resetter that sets the serial number automatically.

I had the same problem since my printer is at firmware J but now it prints fine after changing the serial number on the cartridge.

I just printed this: http://www.thingiverse.com/make:98150 using hatchbox white filament.  My guess is fantome is right about resetting the serial number.  This is the code I used for resetting mine: https://github.com/voltivo/davinci_fila … _eprom.ino
