Topic: Galaxy Note 2 charging / megaphone dock
Got a new phone recently and missed having the charger dock at my desk that I had for my old phone. The issue I had with the old one was that you couldn't use it if you had a case on the phone since it was designed for the naked phone.
So I modeled up my own this time for my new Note II with a snug fit no glue necessary for the plug, wire management to run the cord out the back, and as an added feature... I took the poorly placed speaker output which is directly behind the phone and chambered it down and back out the front so you get to hear the sounds coming towards you instead of away from you. Drops in and charges in the cradle with no effort.
Printed at .3mm using skeinforge and pronterface. I modeled in my own brim, put the case on and let it go for 6 hours. Geometry of the sound chamber and wire management was designed to allow for no support material to be necessary, 45 degree incline with short overhang radius at the top. Came out awful clean and works like a charm. Couldn't be happier with it.
I modeled the profile first, printed that small to get the interface to fit perfectly, then designed the base around it. I will post the stl and transparent cad view so you can see the chamber later when I'm back on my home computer.
