I ordered the 5 colors 1kg filament from push plastic, and it does not come with spools. I've been trying to find a spool online, but the center hole is too small for the PVC for the SD. Any ideas where I could get or print a compatible spool, or at least some normal spools that I can place separate from the printer?
Some areas Have a free cycle community that offer surplus items free for the taking.
If you give location there may be someone here that has a couple of extra spools.
Talk to your local hardware store, home center or electrical supply house or electrical contractor wire comes on spools and they will like give you the empty ones.
Welding wire also comes on spools if you have a welder fabricator local.

There are also lots of empty spools for sale on eBAy, unfortunately, they almost always end up costing about $8 due to shipping. Some of the vendors may work things out for multiple unit shipping.

I think all of these spools have too tiny holes to fit in the spool holder though.
there are lots of spool sizes and likely not hard to make adaprors there are several ideas on universe etc for spool holders.
When I was a kid my dad salvaged wooden spools we used for picnic tables.
And I know the holes in the industrial welding wire spools are plenty big . You just need to find what size works and ask for those.

Wouldn't the sharp corners of the "square" hub crease the filament (at least a good amount of it at the center)?
Maybe you could make the hub into a heaxagon or octogon. I don't think there would be that much more material needed, just more cuts (for the extra pieces and the holes in the sides)
Yup, but that crease doesn't matter in reality. These are the same spools Printrbot has been using for years. If its bothersome, you can wrap the hub in a few layers of duct tape to round the corners.
